The Accounting Assistant should possess strong attention to detail, excellent math skills, excellent customer service and relationship skills, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and changing environment and be highly organized.  PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Accounts Payable Voucher invoices and file paperwork. Run cash requirements and review for any invoices that need to be removed and need to be added. Cut Checks with appropriate backup and file in a timely manner. Review monthly statements; research past due accounts and call vendors as needed. Maintain vendor maintenance files i.e.: address, phone number, etc, work with vendors on any payment issues, i.e. credits taken, short pays, payment application credit memos for returned items. Process non-inventory invoices with manager. Accounts Receivable  Maintain customer accounts, run monthly statements and mail or fax to customers, field customer calls about invoices. Review customer accounts for past due amounts, send invoices, make collection calls and process credit card refunds as needed and enter debit memos on customer accounts for bounced checks, fees, and  chargebacks Apply cash receipts daily. Maintain appropriate paperwork and monthly commissions for Sales Representatives Process credit applications. Additional Responsibilities as needed
